BOVF Frozen Pensions Subgroup meets for first time.

BOVF is celebrating as Frozen Pensions activists and campaigners representing British people living in Japan, Thailand, Australia and Malaysia came together to develop a simple plan to end injustice.

On 7th September 2026, members of the BOVF Frozen UK State Pension subgroup met for the first time.

The group introduced themselves and shared what they have done so far, what they are doing and what they are planning.

The members bring together activists, campaigners and country representatives with a wealth of experience of the issue in countries including Australia, Japan, Malaysia and Thailand.

Born from the meeting was the conclusion that the numbers of British people living overseas who are registered to vote and the goal of ending frozen pensions is intrinsically linked. We will never achieve parity so long as the majority of British diaspora around the world is apathetic to the domestic democratic process.

It was determined that the approach needs to be simple; “Join BOVF, Register to vote, Campaign ”

Bruce, Chair of BOVF, updated the group about some development taking place to support country coordinators.

Various action points were agreed going forwards.
