Presentation and discussion
Join Bruce Darrington, Chair of the British Overseas Voters Forum (BOVF) and a former Hong Kong resident on two occasions, to explore how British citizens overseas can work together to influence UK Government policy.
From frozen UK State Pensions and fair higher education fees to a voting system that works effectively for overseas voters, there are shared concerns that deserve sustained parliamentary attention.
BOVF is a lobbying and pressure group seeking action on longstanding and emerging issues affecting British citizens abroad. UK State Pension recipients in Hong Kong do not receive annual pension increases; due to inflation, the real value of their pension continues to fall.
The previous 15-year limit on overseas voting has ended. Eligible British citizens who previously lived in, or were registered to vote in, the UK can register regardless of how long they have lived abroad.
By registering to vote and joining BOVF as free Supporters, we can build a stronger voice, constituency by constituency, and demonstrate to MPs that these issues matter to the people they represent.
Please join us for a discussion about what we can achieve together.
