Branch Framework Principles
The following principles guide Local Branches within the BOVF framework:
Grassroots Engagement
Local branches provide a platform for grassroots engagement, allowing British citizens residing overseas to participate actively in advocacy efforts, community initiatives, and democratic processes.
Representation
Local Branches serve as representatives of the BOVF within their respective communities, advocating for the rights and interests of British Citizens.
Community Building
Achieving the organizational goals related to our Key Issues, we need to represent as many British Citizens as we can. We can only effectively represent British citizens overseas with a healthy Membership and cohort of Supporters.
Resource Sharing
Local Branches facilitate the sharing of resources, information, and best practices among Members, Supporters, and activists, enhancing collective knowledge and capacity.
Campaigning and Advocacy
Local Branches play a key role in advancing the BOVF’s campaigns and advocacy efforts, mobilizing support, raising awareness, and effecting positive change on issues of concern to British Citizens.
Democratic Engagement
Local Branches encourage democratic engagement among British Citizens, promoting voter registration, participation in elections, and active involvement in the democratic process.
Strategic Alignment
Local Branches align their activities with the strategic goals and priorities of the central BOVF organization, ensuring coherence and synergy in collective efforts to advance the interests of British Citizens overseas.
Local Agenda
Members of Local Branches are able to highlight local needs to make life better for British citizens living abroad.
Adaptability
Local Branches have the flexibility to adapt their activities, initiatives, and strategies to suit the unique needs, challenges, and opportunities present within their respective localities.
Accountability
Local Branches uphold principles of transparency, accountability, and good governance, ensuring responsible stewardship of resources, adherence to organizational policies, and effective communication with Members, Supporters, and stakeholders.
Collaboration
Local Branches collaborate with the central BOVF organization, as well as with other branches, stakeholders, and partners, to maximize impact, leverage resources, and foster synergistic relationships.
Adaptability
Local Branches have the flexibility to adapt their activities, initiatives, and strategies to suit the unique needs, challenges, and opportunities present within their respective localities.
