Local Branch Event Organizers play a pivotal role within the British Overseas Voters Forum (BOVF) by planning, coordinating, and executing a variety of events and meetings at the local branch level.
These events serve as opportunities to engage with Members, Supporters, stakeholders, and the broader community, fostering dialogue, networking, and collaboration on issues of importance to British Citizens residing overseas.

Event Planning and Coordination:
- Collaborate with branch Officers, volunteers, and stakeholders to identify, plan, and organize a diverse range of events, including branch meetings, policy group meetings, social gatherings, and collaborative events with community organizations.
- Conduct research to identify suitable venues (FREE or Low-cost) for events, negotiate rental agreements, and coordinate logistical arrangements such as setting dates, times, and seating arrangements.
Speaker Coordination:
- Identify and invite relevant speakers, experts, or guest presenters to participate in branch meetings or events, ensuring alignment with the objectives and interests of Members and Supporters.
- Coordinate with speakers to finalize presentation topics, logistics, and audiovisual requirements, providing support and guidance as needed.
Policy Group Facilitation:
- Facilitate policy group meetings within the local branch, providing a platform for Members to discuss and provide feedback on BOVF policy formulation, advocacy strategies, and campaign priorities.
- Compile and summarize policy group discussions, recommendations, and feedback to inform the development of BOVF policies and positions.
Community Partnerships:
- Establish and maintain partnerships with local community organizations, such as the British Club, British Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Clubs, Expat Clubs, and other relevant stakeholders, to collaborate on joint events and initiatives.
- Liaise with partner organizations to coordinate event logistics, promote mutual objectives, and maximize participation and engagement from the broader community.
Communication and Promotion:
- Liaise with the branch Social Media Activist (if there is one) to develop promotional materials, event invitations, and communication strategies to publicize branch events and activities, utilizing various channels such as email, social media, newsletters, and community bulletin boards.
- Regularly update branch Members, Supporters, and stakeholders on upcoming events, agenda items, and opportunities for participation or involvement.
Evaluation and Feedback:
- Solicit feedback from event attendees to evaluate the effectiveness, relevance, and impact of branch events, using surveys, feedback forms, or informal discussions to gather input.
- Analyze feedback and recommendations to identify areas for improvement, innovation, or refinement in future event planning and execution.
