Stand at ‘Living in Bangkok’

The British Overseas Voters Forum (BOVF) was very pleased to have our stall at the Living in Bangkok 2024 event at the The British Club Bangkok in Thailand today.

Our presence was led by the BOVF Thailand Coordinator, Eric Jordan and supported by a committed crew of Thailand-based BOVF Members and Supporters.

Eric said, “Big thanks to Ceri Weaver-Berthet FCA for helping to organise our stand today; and last but not least, many thanks to our key supporter Bob Marchant for helping to host the stand.”

Lots of interest, great conversations, worthwhile connections and a considerable number of new Members signed up on the day, with a large number of newly registered Supporters also signed up to join the fight – with more inevitably to follow suit!

Bruce Darrington, Chair of the BOVF, said, “Just being able to explain to people that they can now vote was important in itself, but most could see the solid argument of joining BOVF very easily. It is worth noting that the only thing that prevented some from signing up was nervousness about inheritance tax. But there is clear information from the UK tax department that registering to vote or voting is NOT a factor in determining domicile.”

Many thanks to the excellent British Club and all the exhibitors who made the day a success!
