This questionnaire has been compiled by the British Overseas Voters Forum (BOVF) Policy Group on Student Fees.
The questionnaire is being sent to leaders of international schools around the world that teach a British curriculum. The questionnaire requests each school to provide statistics that will inform a BOVF policy paper on student fees as well as helping to illustrate the important contribution made by British international schools to the higher education sector in the UK.
BOVF is compiling a report to be submitted to the UK Government that will address the unfair treatment of British overseas students who are frequently classified as international students when they return to the UK for higher education. As a result, they are often required to pay international fees, which can be two to three times higher than home fees.
Data from this survey will be used to formulate a BOVF policy proposal to the British Government aimed at easing the student fee burden on British expatriate families.
More broadly, it is hoped that the survey will help demonstrate the important role British international schools play in supporting the UK higher education sector and the UK economy overall, the intention being to pre-empt any potential additional financial burdens being imposed on British international schools (through additional taxes, for instance) and to support other policy and regulatory reforms that would be beneficial to the sector.
The questionnaire responses will be agglomerated and anonymised by BOVF in accordance with GDPR provisions. No report that utilises data from the survey will identify any specific respondent school or personnel.
For all answers, please use data for the most recently completed academic year for which data is available
N.B. Where a number is requested these can be typed in directly – there is no need to use a drop down or arrows to select unless that is more convenient for you. The survey was designed to be filled in on a desktop computer so attempting to fill it on a mobile device may not work as well.
